"MISTY GLOW"

Oil on panel
Image size: 5 x 7 inches
As Autumn begins to set in I thought I would extend Summer a little, (if only in my mind) by painting a few lush scenes. Very soon the landscape will change from shades of green to vivid shades of gold and then I'll be inspired to change the colors on my palette. In the meantime, we can enjoy what's left of the Summer landscape.

NEW WORKS UPDATE

I've neglected my blog for some time now and so I'm posting some new works that have been placed on my website but never quite made it to my blog. Some of these have already been sold but you can click here to view paintings currently available. As always, feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks!

EVENING BRILLIANCE

Original Watercolor Painting
Image size: 5 x 7 inches
I've been working on an oil painting for a number of days and I thought I would take a break and paint a watercolor. I came across a photo I had taken of this bright, translucent sky and I knew that watercolor would be the perfect medium for this work.

"AUGUST REFLECTIONS"

Watercolor Painting on 300 lb. Fabriano paper
Image size: 5 x 7 inches
The extreme warm weather has driven me to paint a nice, warm Summer scene. And since willows and water are two of my favorite things to paint, I've made them part of this painting.

"EVENING SOLITUDE"

"Evening Solitude"
watercolor painting
Image Size: 5 x 7 inches

One of my all time favorite things to paint is a single tree out in the middle of a snow covered field, standing stately against the backdrop of an evening sky. When a lone tree is out there by itself, it almost seems to scream "look how beautiful I am".

"WINTER PRELUDE"

Original Watercolor Painting
on 300 Lb. Arches watercolor paper
Image size: 5 x 7 inches

Sometime in late October into November when the leaves are turning and falling, you come across trees that have already shed their leaves, showing off their Winter beauty and giving us a glimpse of the coming season. The contrastof the bare trees against the Autumn colors can be so striking.

"GRAND ENTRANCE"

"Grand Entrance"
Original Watercolor Painting
on 300 Lb. Arches watercolor paper
Image size: 5 x 7 inches

I saw this door on the grounds of Longwood
Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. I'm always drawn
to architectural structures including the weathered
and worn types such as this. Although this door is in
need of paint and repair, to me anything draped
in Ivy somehow has a certain gracefulness and
beauty to it.

"PERFECT ENDING"

"Perfect Ending"
Original Watercolor Painting
on 300 Lb. Arches watercolor paper
Image size: 5 x 7 inches

As this year comes to a close, I wanted to squeeze in
one last painting for 2008. So I thought it would be
appropriate to create a sunset scene which marks the end
of the day, to commemorate the end of another year.

Happy New Year,
