NEW LIMITED EDITION GICLEE

"MOUNTAIN RETREAT"
Image size: 16 X 20
Edition size: 100 signed & numbered

This bucolic scene is taken from time I spent at a friend's place at Hawk Mountain in PA. Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is one of the best places in the northeastern United States to watch the annual hawk migration while also having the opportunity to take in the Autumn display of color. This painting portrays a peaceful pond as the sun was setting, casting a golden glow on this 60 acre piece of heaven.

I will be exhibiting this and other new editions, at the Mount Gretna Art Show this weekend, August 16th & 17th, in Mount Gretna, PA. Please click here for more info regarding this show and other upcoming exhibits.

"EVENING GLOW"

"Evening Glow"

Image size: 6 x 10 inches

In the evening when the sun is low on the horizon, everything takes on a golden-copper hue. This lone tree seemed to glow, basking in the evening sun. Such a warm & beautiful sight.

"SUMMER" from "Four Seasons"

This is a close-up of the "Summer" etching of the "Four Seasons" series. I neglected to include it in the last e-mail. I apologize for the error. To view larger versions of the entire series please click here. Thanks!

"FOUR SEASONS"

"Four Seasons"
Original Hand Colored Copperplate Etchings
Etching image size: 3 11/16 x 5 5/16 inches (each etching)
Framed dimensions: 10 x 12 inches (each framed etching)

This set of etchings are part of my personal collection from a sold out edition I had created a number of years ago. The seasons have always been a favorite subject of artists and collectors alike and this was a well-received edition that sold out very quickly. I am including a close-up view of the "Summer" etching here but you can see all four in detail by clicking the link below. As always, thank you for your interest in my etchings and paintings.

This special series of etchings are offered FRAMED AND MATTED as shown above and the winning bidder will receive FOUR INDIVIDUAL FRAMED ORIGINAL ETCHINGS. If you are unfamiliar with how I create my etchings, you can learn more about this 15th century technique on my website by clicking here.

Please click here to place your bid and to view other detailed photos and additional details about these original hand colored etchings.

"HEAVY SKY"

Oil on panel
8 x 10 inches

This painting conveys the drama created when dark clouds hang over a bright horizon. This is one of the many new paintings I will be exhibiting at my upcoming shows.

Also . . .

I am working on releasing some new limited editions, and I have a number of images I'm considering but I'm still in the choosing stage. Obviously it's not possible to reproduce every painting, and it is often difficult for an artist to decide which painting is a good candidate for a limited edition. So if one of my paintings speaks to you more than the others, I would be interested in knowing if you have a favorite. I'm always interested in knowing why a particular piece draws more attention than others I've created. Of course, I know it's a matter of personal preference and taste, so I always appreciate your continued interest in my work, whether it's one piece or many!

If you have the opportunity to attend any of my upcoming exhibits, I look forward to showing you my latest works.

"HAWK MOUNTAIN RETREAT"

Oil on panel
16 x 20 inches

Located along the Appalachian Flyway in east-central Pennsylvania, Hawk Mountain Sanctuary is one of the best places in the northeastern United States to watch the annual hawk migration in the Fall. A couple of my dear friends invited me to their beautiful property along the mountain, so I recently had an opportunity to get away and enjoy nature at its best. This is a bucolic scene from one of the many pictures taken during my visit. Although I painted this in honor of my friend's birthday, it is such a peaceful place I thought I would share it with you.

"AUTUMN DISPLAY"

Oil on panel
5 x 7 inches

There are so many vibrant colors in the leaves of Autumn and this tree seemed to have all of them. Occasionally I feel the need to paint a bright, sunny scene like this one.

"DAY'S END (STUDY)"

Oil on panel
5 x 7 inches

This is a study for a larger painting I'm working on. The inspiration comes from one of the many sunset photos I've taken on my many trips to the Florida Keys. This particular scene is at Mallory Square in Key West. If you've ever been there as the sun sets, you know what a magical experience it is.

"CLOUD BREAK"

Oil on panel
18 x 24 inches

Vivid skies against an open landscape is a familiar theme in many of my paintings. This is another one of those scenes I captured in my travels that I just knew would become a painting some day.

This is one of a number of paintings I'm currently working on for my upcoming Spring shows. To view a list of these shows where you can view my latest paintings please visit http://studiocc.com/pages/Exhibition_Schedule.htm.

"LEMON ON LIME"

Oil on panel
5 x 7 inches

I love landscapes but I also have an
affinity for still life paintings.
This is a visually simple piece but I liked the
lemon wedge against the white bisque dish
and lime tablecloth. I will proably always
use "Mother Nature" as my prime
source of inspiration, but every now and
then I like to paint other subjects that I
find to be every bit as interesting and
challenging. As an artist, I find there are
so many things I'd love to paint,
yet so little time. I hope you enjoy the
first still life of my Smalll Painting Series.

"SUMMER TRIO"

Oil on panel
20 x 24 inches

This painting is based on another painting I recently did in my small painting series as a study for this larger painting. The warm, bright sun and lush greens of Summer were my inspiration for this piece.

It has been a little while since my last
correspondence but I've been busy painting
and I now have a chance to show you my
latest efforts. I appreciate the time you take
to read my posts and I hope you enjoy
my new creations.

I am working on a new painting to add to my
"Small Painting Series" and I will be posting
it to EBay once it is completed. I also have other
larger paintings recently completed and you

"Streaks Of Nature"

Oil on panel
8 x 10 inches

Nature has a way of creating its own painting.
I was struck how the sky and large expanse of land
displayed wonderful horizontal bands of color.

about this painting

"SUNLIT REFLECTIONS"

Oil on Panel
5 x 7 inches

Weeping Willows draped over water make a
beautiful scene and it is one of my favorite
things to paint. In this painting the
willows are in the shadows while the
bright sun backlights them and
illuminates the distant trees.

"SUMMER TRIO"

Oil on panel
5 x 7 inches

Winter is coming to an end and Summer
is just around the corner.
Warm, Bright Sun, green grass and
lush trees can't be far away.

"MISTY BACKDROP"

Oil on panel
16 x 20"

I Love painting atmospheric scenes such as this one. The time is November when the last leaves are lingering on some trees and the unusual warmth of the day creates a hazy mist. The trees are the focal point with a light fog off in the distance.

"STREAKS OF SKY"

Oil on panel
5 x 7 inches

Another painting from a series of sky paintings. There are an infinite number of amazing skies to paint so I'll never run out of landscapes as long as the heavens above exist.
